More and more companies are starting to get on the bandwagon with regards to competitive (nay, compassionate?) paid family and medical leave. Recently, the US Senate approved a measure that would fund paid medical leave for fed employees while still leaving the US highly criticized for not mandating paid leave for new parents. This recent update from ebn, shares how Intel is expanding its paid leave benefits in an effort to "more fully and holistically support its employees during critical moments in their lives."

As CXR continues to explore the gaps between what employees and candidates expect and what employers deliver (watch for CareerXroads research and data points on this in Q1), it's worth taking note of those organizations stepping up and at least moving in the right direction. As a point of reference, workers in the US are given 12 weeks of family leave under the FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) but does not guarantee pay during that time off.
