Most talent and acquisition leaders are very familiar with non-compete agreements. Non-compete agreements can become a major factor in the potential hiring of a new employee. There are a variety of reasons for using non-compete agreements. Research from Starr, Bishara, and Prescott reported from a US Treasury Department study suggests that a considerable number of American workers (18 percent of all workers, or nearly 30 million people) are covered by non-compete agreements and about 37 percent of workers report having worked under one at some point during their career.
The majority of CXR member companies use non-compete agreements prior to an employee being hired.
